Albania is set to host the European Political Community Summit in Tirana on May 16, an event that Prime Minister Edi Rama described as “the biggest meeting in our history.”
“Together with the President of the European Council, we had a broader discussion about the progress along this path, as well as the upcoming European Political Community Summit that will be held in Tirana. It will be the largest meeting in our history, and we will be the best hosts,” said Rama.
He also emphasized Albania’s aspirations for deeper integration into the European family:
“This is the empire we want to belong to. Our sense of loyalty cannot be fulfilled without being part of it. So hopefully, we will.”
The European Political Community Summit is expected to gather the most prominent leaders from across the continent in Tirana, at a critical moment for the Western Balkans’ path toward European integration.
