Veton Berisha, the newly elected deputy representing Kosovo’s Egyptian community, has expressed his willingness to vote for a new government under Albin Kurti, even if he is not offered a ministerial position.

Berisha emphasized that his intention is not to seek a ministerial role but to contribute to the creation of a functioning government. He offered his full support to Kurti’s efforts, stating that he is ready to provide his vote and work towards building the institutions of Kosovo.

“I have offered my mandate to the Prime Minister. We are discussing this matter. I am willing to give my full support to ensure that institutions are built as quickly as possible. I have offered my vote and will not be a blocker in any situation, but I will ask for accountability and the implementation of the program that addresses the needs of the community,” said Berisha.

Berisha, who is known for his commitment to the Constitution, stated that he respects the 42% of voters who supported him and is focused on contributing to the well-being of his community. He reiterated his willingness to back Kurti’s government, hoping that Kurti would soon secure enough votes to form a viable government.

However, Berisha also hinted at the possibility of supporting other parties if Kurti is unable to form a government.

“I will have the same demands for the next mandate holder, according to the Constitution. I will continue to advocate for the rights of the Egyptian community,” he added.

Berisha further explained that his discussions with Kurti have been positive, but he expressed concern about external influences affecting the formation process. He is hopeful that such pressures do not impact the stability of the government formation process.
