The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj, has extended his Easter greetings to Christian believers, including Bishop Dodë Gjergji, while expressing hope for full recognition of the Republic of Kosovo by the Holy See.

In a Facebook post, Haradinaj highlighted the significance of this year’s joint celebration of Easter by both Catholic and Orthodox Christians, calling it a moment of peace, kindness, and harmony.

“Happy Easter and many more to come! On this holy day, when Easter is celebrated simultaneously by all Christians, I wish peace, kindness, and harmony in your families,” Haradinaj wrote.

A Call to the Vatican: Recognize Kosovo’s Independence

Haradinaj also mentioned Pope Francis and his collaborators, expressing his hope that the Vatican will officially recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.

“Let this holiday serve as a moment to strengthen our respect and harmony with one another,” he concluded.

A Unified Easter Celebration for Christians in Kosovo

This year’s Easter holds special meaning as both Catholic and Orthodox Christians mark the holiday on the same day—something that rarely happens due to differing calendars. The occasion has fostered a unique sense of unity and shared spirit among Kosovo’s Christian communities.
