The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, has openly opposed the Agreement on Tourism and Real Estate Development between Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates.
He has called on members of Parliament to carefully consider the concerns raised by civil society organizations, state institutions, and local representatives before making a decision on ratifying the agreement.
In a statement posted on the social platform ‘X’, Milatović emphasized that the agreement is incomplete and contains significant shortcomings, including legal, economic, and environmental aspects, and therefore should not be approved in its current form.
The Montenegrin President urged for greater efforts to address these issues before the agreement proceeds to a vote in Parliament.
