French President Emmanuel Macron announced today that he had a “very positive” conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, highlighting Ukraine’s readiness for an unconditional ceasefire.
In a post on platform X, Macron wrote: “Ending the war in Ukraine — this is our shared goal with U.S. President Donald Trump.”
Macron further noted that Ukraine is prepared to work with the U.S. and Europe to achieve this goal: “Ukraine is ready for an unconditional ceasefire. President Zelensky reaffirmed this to me today. He would like to cooperate with the Americans and Europeans to make it possible.”
The French president also announced that the “Coalition of the Willing,” led by France and the United Kingdom, will continue efforts to secure a ceasefire and a lasting peace in Ukraine.
