Memli Krasniqi, the leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), has criticized the Vetëvendosje (VV) movement’s proposal for a secret ballot for the position of Speaker, labeling it as illegal and unconstitutional.
Following the failure of the recent Constitutional Assembly session, Krasniqi described the events as shameful and insulting.
“VV has committed an open constitutional violation. When the voting started and failed several times, the proposal for a secret ballot became illegal and unconstitutional. I am sorry for the situation they are putting Avni Dehari in, they are exploiting him. Even more arbitrary is that VV considers Albulena Haxhiu more important than the Assembly and the government. This is shameful and insulting. Having no numbers for prime minister, Kurti continues to mock Haxhiu. When there are two candidates, a secret vote makes sense,” said Krasniqi.
