Police in Shkodër have uncovered a weapons and ammunition base held on behalf of criminal groups and have arrested the owner of the house where they were found.
As part of the operation codenamed “Baruti”, a criminal base was discovered in the village of Rrencë.
In addition, the homeowner, identified as Ç. J., 61 years old, was caught in the act and arrested. He has a criminal history for illegal possession of firearms.
From the search of the premises, the following were found: 11 pistols, a detonator fuse with ignition cord, approximately 2000 bullets of various calibers, 2 bulletproof vests, and 1 silencer.
These weapons will be examined by the Forensic Police Institute to determine if they were used in criminal incidents.
Furthermore, under the direction of the Shkodër Prosecutor’s Office, investigations are ongoing to identify and prosecute all individuals involved in this case.
