Hysri Selimi, arrested on May 6 by Kosovar authorities, is under investigation by the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (PSRK) on suspicion of espionage and direct collaboration with Serbia’s Intelligence and Security Agency (BIA).

According to wiretaps obtained by Dukagjini Television, direct communications between Selimi and a BIA officer have been uncovered, indicating a structured collaboration.

The conversations also mention Zekrija Qazimi, a convicted terrorist, and suggest efforts to strengthen his group.

One recorded exchange reveals the BIA’s direct concern for Selimi’s wellbeing while he was imprisoned in Syria:

Conversation:

BIA Officer: “May God have protected you, brother… I had a… how can I say…”

Selimi: “An impression.”

BIA Officer: “An impression, a feeling that you would return. That everything would be as it should. I swear on my life.”

Selimi: “Honestly… I’ve wanted this so many times.”

BIA Officer: “I sent our officer (from BIA)… our ambassador in Syria. I sent him to inquire about you, you understand?”

Selimi: “And what did he say?”

BIA Officer: “He said you’re alive.”

Selimi: “Yes, he has information…”

BIA Officer: “Of course he has information, brother… I knew you were alive and in prison. But I didn’t know many details.”
