Glen Rogers, known by the nickname “The Casanova Killer,” was executed last night at the Florida State Prison near the town of Starke, bringing an end to a dark chapter that spanned nearly 30 years.
The 62-year-old was executed by lethal injection, following a judicial process that sentenced him for two brutal murders committed in 1995.
Before receiving the fatal injection, Rogers spoke six words addressed to the American president: “President Trump, keep making America great.”
He then added: “I’m ready to go.”
Rogers was sentenced to death for the murder of Tina Marie Cribbs, a 34-year-old mother of two whose body was found in a motel room in Tampa. He was arrested a few days later in Kentucky while driving the victim’s car.
After his arrest, he shocked investigators by claiming to have killed 70 women, although he was legally convicted and sentenced for only two murders—Cribbs and Sandra Gallagher, who was killed in California the same year.
Rogers’ execution closes one of the most infamous cases of serial violence in the U.S., which for decades sparked fear and debate over how capital punishment cases are handled.
