The acting Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Avni Dehari, after the 17th attempt to constitute the Assembly, stated that he has consulted with opposition parties regarding the proposal made by Vetëvendosje (VV) to hold Assembly sessions once a week instead of every 48 hours.

Dehari told Tëvë1 that he expects parliamentary groups to bring a decision on this proposal at the next session, scheduled for May 19.

He also announced that he is expected to meet with the acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti during the day, but clarified that the meeting will concern a different matter.

“They’re making media statements saying there’s no point in meeting every 48 hours, since the result is always the same. I found it necessary to consult with them, and they said they would consult with their parliamentary groups and bring a decision at the next session. The Rules of Procedure oblige us to call sessions until a solution is found. Of course, it would be better if there were a solution, but until then we are forced to meet every 48 hours. I have a meeting with Prime Minister Kurti, but on another issue, not this one,” Dehari stated following the latest failure to constitute the Assembly.
