Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, is paying an official visit to Kosovo today, where she will engage in a series of high-level meetings.
During her stay in Pristina, Kallas will meet with representatives of political parties and civil society organizations. The visit is part of a broader diplomatic effort to strengthen EU ties and support regional stability.
A press conference is scheduled to take place at the Europe House in Pristina on Thursday, May 22, at 15:45, local time, as confirmed by Klankosova.tv.
In addition, Kallas will visit the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) and hold discussions with KFOR Commander Enrico Barduani.
Following her Kosovo visit, Kallas will continue her regional tour by traveling to Skopje, North Macedonia, where she is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski. A joint press conference will be held on May 23.
While in North Macedonia, Kallas will launch the first-ever EU–North Macedonia Security and Defense Dialogue in cooperation with Foreign and Trade Minister Timcho Mucunski. She will also visit the Balkan Medical Task Force’s Permanent Organization (BMTF SO), accompanied by Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski.
In addition, Kallas will take time to engage with local youth, students, and young professionals, underlining the EU’s commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders in the Western Balkans.
This marks Kaja Kallas’ second official tour of the Western Balkan countries as the EU’s top diplomat, reinforcing the bloc’s growing focus on the region’s political and security integration.
