The disappearance of Denisa Maria Antas Pon, a 30-year-old Romanian woman, has culminated in a horrific discovery in Italy. Her dismembered body was found inside a suitcase discarded near an abandoned farmhouse.

The 30-year-old, who worked as a luxury escort, had gone missing on May 15 in the city of Prato, where she had traveled to meet clients. Following the grim discovery, police arrested 32-year-old Romanian Vasile Frumouzache, who has reportedly confessed to the murder.

Police tracked the 32-year-old after discovering he had spoken with the victim on the phone the night she disappeared. Security camera footage captured a man arriving at the hotel room where Antas was staying just before 11:00 PM. He remained inside for two hours and 15 minutes, then left with a white suitcase belonging to the 30-year-old.

“I killed her because she was blackmailing me,” Frumouzache allegedly claimed after his arrest. According to the Daily Mail, Frumouzache, who worked as a security guard and is a father of two, stated he had met Antas on a dating app before visiting her at the hotel where they had sexual relations.

The 32-year-old reportedly told police that when he informed the 30-year-old escort he was married, she threatened to contact his wife and demanded €10,000 “in exchange for her silence.”

He allegedly described to the police how he then took the 30-year-old’s life, decapitated her with a knife, placed her headless body in a garbage bag, and her belongings in a suitcase. The next day, he claimed, he burned her head in a garden.

Relatives of the 30-year-old told Italian media that hours before her disappearance, she had conveyed her fear that she would be killed. However, in her last communication with her mother, the 30-year-old had said: “For your sake, mom, I’m fine, I’ll see you at home on Saturday.”
