The European Union has reacted to the arrest of Kosovar citizen Arbnor Spahiu by Serbian authorities, emphasizing that it is closely monitoring the case and expects Serbia to fully respect legal procedures.
In an official response to RTV Dukagjini, the EU stated:
“The EU is closely following the arrest of Arbnor Spahiu by Serbian authorities. We expect Serbian authorities to respect and ensure the proper implementation of legal procedures.”
This reaction follows statements by Kosovar authorities regarding the manner of Spahiu’s arrest and concerns about his treatment while in custody. The EU reiterated the obligation to uphold fundamental rights and ensure a fair legal process, in line with core European values and standards.
