The deadlock over the formation of the new Assembly of Kosovo continues. Today marked the 34th unsuccessful attempt to constitute the new legislature.
At the end of the session, the presiding official, Avni Dehari from the Vetëvendosje Movement, mistakenly announced the next session for “June 21, 2005”—a slip that did not go unnoticed.
Dehari stated:
“51 deputies voted in favor, one against, none abstained. There is no quorum. See you on June 21st, 2005 at 10:30.”
Despite numerous attempts, Kosovo’s Assembly remains unconstituted, prolonging the institutional crisis beyond expectations.
The next meeting is expected on June 21, assuming the calendar is followed correctly this time.
