During an emergency session of the UN Security Council in New York, U.S. Ambassador Dorothy Shea repeated accusations against Iran for lacking transparency regarding its nuclear program.

Shea stated that Tehran has obstructed previous diplomatic efforts and failed to provide accurate disclosures, especially on developments related to its nuclear capabilities.

“There has been a clear lack of transparency from Iran,” said Shea, urging the Council to act decisively to halt Iran’s nuclear ambitions and its threatening rhetoric toward Israel.

Iran, on the other hand, has consistently denied any military intentions, claiming its nuclear program is strictly for civilian and energy purposes.

This emergency meeting comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following the recent U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
