U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that Israel has accepted the necessary conditions for a proposed 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, with the goal of ending the ongoing conflict, Rks News reports.

“We will work with all parties to end the war,” Trump stated in a Truth Social post, without disclosing the details of the proposed agreement.

He emphasized the role of Qatar and Egypt in mediating the deal:

“The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to bring about peace, will deliver this final proposal. I hope… that Hamas will accept it — because there will be no better offer — it will only get worse.”

This development comes amid intensified international efforts to halt the fighting, which began after the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas, in which approximately 1,200 people were killed in Israel.

According to Gaza’s Hamas-run Health Ministry, more than 56,647 Palestinians have been killed since the conflict began.

It remains unclear whether Hamas will accept the terms of the proposed ceasefire.

Trump’s announcement comes shortly before his upcoming meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, scheduled for next week. Trump has warned he will take a firm stance, saying he plans to be “very tough” in that conversation.
