Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti congratulated the United States on its 249th Independence Day, emphasizing the importance of the U.S.–Kosovo alliance in upholding shared values of freedom, equality, and democracy, RKS News reports.

“Today, as the United States of America enters its 250th year of existence, I extend my warmest wishes to President Donald J. Trump and to all the people of the United States—Happy Independence Day!” Kurti wrote in his message.

He highlighted that in times when international peace and security are increasingly under threat, the ideals enshrined in the 1776 Declaration of Independence remain just as vital today as they were then.

“We are grateful for the friendship and proud of the cooperation and partnership between our Republic and the United States in defending those very ideals,” Kurti stated, citing examples such as the development of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF), support for Ukraine, and hosting Afghan refugees as evidence of successful collaboration.

In closing, the Prime Minister expressed his hope:

“May the alliance between our two states and the close friendship of our peoples be eternal.”
