Vetëvendosje Movement (VV) Deputy Mimoza Kusari-Lila stated that she does not expect the Assembly to be constituted even during its 43rd session on Monday. As reported by Rks News, she believes the Constitutional Court’s ruling has not prohibited secret balloting, and deputies are violating the Constitution by failing to vote for the secret ballot commission.
Constitutional Obligation and Lack of Clarity
Kusari-Lila suggested that either the Constitutional Court should provide additional clarifications regarding its decision, or the Assembly should convene, dissolve itself, and pave the way for snap elections.
“All that is expected of us as deputies is voting. Voting is a constitutional obligation, not a choice,” Kusari-Lila emphasized. “The Court has not identified any violation; it has clarified the procedure for the Assembly’s constitution and emphasized that no form of voting is excluded. If the representatives of the opposition parties do not agree with the secret ballot, let them reject the commission.”
She concluded, “Let the Court come with additional instructions or clarifications, or let the political parties agree that the Assembly should convene and dissolve, to go to elections.”
