The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) held a leadership meeting today to discuss and finalize the list of candidates for the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for October 12.
The spotlight of the meeting was on the municipality of Drenas, where the candidacy of the current mayor, Ramiz Lladrovci, was decisively rejected by a majority vote.
According to reports, Lladrovci received only 4 votes in favor, while 26 members voted against, and 1 abstained, effectively ending his bid for another term.
In his place, the PDK leadership officially selected Petrit Hajdari as the party’s candidate for the mayor of Drenas.
This decision marks a significant shift in the party’s strategy for the municipality, which has long been considered a stronghold of the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
