The Consulate of the Republic of Kosovo in Stuttgart has issued a statement following the serious railway accident that occurred on Sunday near the city of Riedlingen, in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
According to initial reports, a regional train carrying around 100 passengers derailed due to a landslide caused by heavy rainfall in the area.
In an official announcement, the Consulate confirmed that there are no Kosovar citizens currently known to be among the victims or injured in the accident.
“We are in continuous communication with the German authorities to obtain accurate and updated information regarding the consequences of the accident,” the Consulate stated, adding that verification procedures are ongoing to ensure no Kosovan nationals were affected.
Local emergency services responded immediately to the scene, and investigations into the cause and safety measures are underway.
The Consulate reiterated its commitment to remain vigilant and continue cooperating with local institutions to safeguard the well-being of Kosovo citizens residing or traveling in Germany.
