The Serbian movement “We Are the People’s Force” has announced that two U.S. Congresswomen, including Claudia Tenney, have sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump proposing mutual recognition between Serbia and Kosovo.
According to the statement, the letter sent to Trump on July 25 urges the American president to mediate an agreement for normalization between Kosovo and Serbia, which would include a possible peace accord and mutual recognition.
The movement expressed “particular concern” that one of the signatories is Claudia Tenney, co-chair of the Serbian Caucus in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The statement recalls that Tenney, during her visit to Belgrade and Prishtina in May this year, held meetings with high-ranking state officials. On that occasion, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, awarded her the Order of the Serbian Flag (First Class) for “merits in strengthening relations” between Serbia and the United States.
“Therefore, at the White House, Congresswoman Tenney’s initiative for mutual recognition between Serbia and Kosovo could be interpreted as something that has the blessing and support of official Belgrade,” the movement’s statement says.
