The Chairman of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organization (OVL-UÇK), Hysni Gucati, accompanied by associates, visited the Embassy of Turkey today, where they met with Ambassador Sabri Tunç Angili.
The meeting discussed the ongoing processes at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, particularly the cases against former KLA leaders. The veterans expressed their concerns over what they consider politically motivated trials that, according to them, undermine the values of the liberation war.
Gucati emphasized the importance of Turkey’s role as a key ally of Kosovo and called on the Turkish state to use its influence to ensure justice and fairness in these judicial processes.
Ambassador Angili reiterated Turkey’s continued support for Kosovo in all areas, including political and diplomatic advocacy, and expressed appreciation for the sacrifices of those who fought for freedom.
The parties agreed to maintain regular communication on matters concerning veterans’ rights and the protection of the historical truth about the KLA’s war of liberation.
