Since Thursday, when Gjorgje Radomirović escaped from the Detention Center in North Mitrovica, he remains at large with no new information regarding his whereabouts.

Several days have passed, and authorities have yet to secure any concrete leads on the capture of the convict, who is now considered a serious threat to public safety.

Radomirović was sentenced in 2014 for the murder of a Serbian individual, M.V., from the village of Leshak, as well as for the serious injury of the victim’s brother.

He was in the final phase of his sentence, with only 3 years and 7 months remaining, classified as an advanced inmate with the right to work in the prison workshop. In fact, he was listed among prisoners eligible for conditional release.

His escape prompted an immediate reaction from authorities. The Kosovo Police have established multiple checkpoints in the northern part of the country and deployed specialized K9 units in the search, but so far without success.

The Kosovo Correctional Service has taken urgent disciplinary measures, suspending the Director of the Detention Center, a senior supervisor, and two correctional officers, while internal investigations continue to clarify the circumstances of the escape and assign responsibility.

According to the Kosovo Police report, correctional officers have been interviewed, and citizens are urged to report any information related to the escapee by calling the emergency number 192 or visiting the nearest police station.

Radomirović’s escape remains a serious security issue, and authorities continue their fruitless search four days after his disappearance.
