The Ministry of Defense in Albania has reported that in the past 24 hours, 64 fire outbreaks have been recorded, of which 24 remain active.

According to a post on Facebook, over 10,000 emergency personnel, coordinated by the Civil Protection Agency, are on the ground, and the situation is moving toward stabilization.

“The large-scale operation against the fires continued without interruption throughout the night, aiming to contain the perimeter of flames near populated areas and national parks across the country. From the air, three helicopters are operating in Gramsh and two others in Delvinë,” the statement read.

Meteorological data indicate that the country is expected to face high temperatures and strong winds around midday, which increases the risk of existing fire outbreaks reactivating, spreading, and the formation of new fires.

Authorities are urging citizens to avoid any actions that could spark a fire and to immediately report any new fire outbreaks.
