U.S. President Donald Trump has praised European leaders ahead of a virtual meeting with them on Wednesday, which will focus on the upcoming Trump–Putin summit set for Friday in Alaska.

In a post on Truth Social just hours before the meeting, Trump said that European leaders want to see an agreement to end the war in Ukraine.

“I will be speaking with European leaders shortly. They are great people who want to see a deal reached,” Trump wrote.

According to the BBC, EU and NATO leaders — along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — will first hold a virtual meeting at 14:00 Kosovo time. Later, U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance will join the discussions at around 15:00.

At approximately 16:00, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who convened the meeting, and President Zelensky are expected to hold a joint press conference to brief the media on the talks.
