Northwestern Pakistan has been hit by devastating floods since June 26, leaving behind dozens of destroyed villages, collapsed bridges, and heavily damaged infrastructure. The disaster has so far claimed 670 lives and left around 1,000 people injured.
According to Lieutenant General Inam Haider, head of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), more than 350 deaths were reported in the past four days alone. He confirmed during a press conference that recovery and relief efforts are ongoing across all affected areas.
Meanwhile, Faraz Mughal, spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government, told reporters that at least 200 people remain missing, raising fears that the death toll could rise further.
