Following the armed attack in Banjskë in September 2023, Milan Radoičić, who admitted to organizing the attack, has not been detained and has reportedly continued expanding his business activities in Serbia.

A Serbian media investigation by Radar reveals that Radoičić, together with his close associate Zvonko Veselinović, control multi-million construction projects in the Kopaonik tourist area through networks of companies and personal connections.

Their project, which aims to build a “private city” at 1,700 meters altitude, reportedly involves multiple legal violations, including the illegal use of explosives in inhabited areas, putting both residents and tourists at serious risk.

On August 8, a construction site explosion occurred in central Kopaonik. Eyewitnesses reported that flying rocks landed tens of meters from nearby buildings, endangering the lives of residents and tourists. Police arrived over an hour later, and no one was held responsible at the scene. The explosion was reportedly intended to expand the foundations of a new hotel. The manner in which the operation was conducted—without warning, without clear permits, and with severe consequences—has raised serious concerns over public safety and legal compliance.

Radar’s investigation also indicates that companies linked to Radoičić and Veselinović, such as Kopaonik Konstrakshn, are managed by associates with known ties to organized crime. Additionally, family members and close associates of Radoičić and Veselinović reportedly benefit from public tenders and resources, often with the silent support of Serbian institutions.

This incident underscores ongoing concerns about criminal influence over large-scale construction projects in tourist zones and the risk posed to public safety when regulations are circumvented.
