18 Years Since the Killing of Triumf Riza: Foundation Stone Laid for Memorial Honoring Fallen Police Officers

Today marks the 18th anniversary of the killing of police officer Triumf Riza. On this occasion, the foundation stone of a memorial dedicated to police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty will be laid.

The Kosovo Police announced that starting at 10:00 AM, a ceremony will be held in Dardania neighborhood, Prishtina, at the site where Triumf Riza was killed, to honor his memory with a commemorative plaque.

The event will be attended by senior state officials, including Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Acting Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla, and the General Director of Police Gazmend Hoxha.

The Case of Triumf Riza’s Killing

Those accused of Riza’s murder include Ilir Abdullahu (known as “Liza”), in collaboration with Arben Berisha and Fitim Avdiu, who have already been convicted. Enver Sekiraqa and Rrahim Abdullahu are also accused of committing the criminal offense of “aggravated murder.”

Ilir Abdullahu was arrested on July 16, 2023, after years on the run as a prime suspect in the killing of Triumf Riza.

Meanwhile, Enver Sekiraqa is on trial for allegedly inciting the murder. On May 3, 2024, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison but remains at large.
