Ministers for European Affairs from the 27 EU member states, along with counterparts from Ukraine, Moldova, Western Balkans partners, and Turkey, are gathering for an informal ministerial meeting in Copenhagen on September 1-2.
The meeting is hosted by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Denmark currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Work sessions will take place at the Frederiksberg Forum. The first session will focus on the importance of the Copenhagen Criteria for EU enlargement, with participation from Ukraine, Moldova, Western Balkan partners, and Turkey.
During the second session, EU member state ministers will discuss strengthening the EU’s tools for upholding the Rule of Law. The meeting will conclude with a working lunch on the EU’s preparations for enlargement, including internal reforms.
