The Kosovo Police marked its 26th anniversary with a series of activities held at “Zahir Pajaziti” Square in Prishtina, attended by senior officials and elementary school students.
The Acting Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, congratulated the institution on its anniversary and emphasized the police’s dedication to serving citizens, especially children.
“What could be better than celebrating a birthday with children – the birthday of an institution that has reached maturity and must dedicate this maturity to the service of citizens, especially our children. Our path will face challenges and lead you to different destinations – some of you will become police officers, teachers, doctors, or serve in other fields. On this journey, you will always have a trusted partner – the Kosovo Police, which not only has the obligation to respond at any moment but also the duty to do so with the greatest love,” Sveçla stated.
Meanwhile, the General Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, highlighted that the institution remains the most trusted in the country, while honoring the memory of 26 fallen heroes who gave their lives defending Kosovo’s security and integrity.
“We have given 26 heroes in the fight against crime and for the protection of the territorial integrity of the Republic. This is one of the most trusted institutions of our country, with officers who have served for 26 years. We continue to work to advance our professionalism even further. My message to children: keep learning, because the doors of the Kosovo Police will always remain open,” Hoxha emphasized.
The ceremony served as both a commemoration of sacrifice and a call to youth to see the Kosovo Police as a pillar of trust, service, and opportunity.
