A serious road accident in the outskirts of Bologna claimed the life of an 18-year-old Albanian and left another 19-year-old injured. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning on Via Murri, where the young passenger died at the scene, while the driver is being treated in hospital with moderate injuries.
According to police, the two youths, residents of centers for unaccompanied foreign minors, were noticed at a traffic light on Via Tolmino and attempted to escape a control.
Their Audi vehicle drove through several main roads before losing control on a curve on Via dei Lamponi, crashing into a streetlight pole and a road sign, reports euronews.al.
The 18-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle and died instantly, while the driver was hospitalized. Authorities continue investigations to clarify the causes of the accident.
