Thousands of Albanians from around the world have gathered in The Hague, near the building of the Special Court, to protest in support of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK).
Protesters carry banners in English with messages such as:
- “Honor those who fought for our future”
- “Justice for the heroes of my people”
- “Five years on trial, freedom must prevail, injustice cannot last forever – freedom now”
The crowd, waving the red-and-black Albanian flags and chanting “UÇK,” began assembling about an hour before the official start of the demonstration, creating a visible show of solidarity and national pride.
The protest highlights the ongoing demand from the Albanian community worldwide for justice and recognition of the sacrifices made during Kosovo’s liberation struggle.
