Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, after paying respects at the grave of Kosovo Police Commander Afrim Bunjaku on the second anniversary of his killing by Serbian terrorists in Banjskë, Zvečan, praised Bunjaku’s heroism and dedication to defending the country, noting that he was the first to confront the terrorists.
“He protected citizens without distinction, upholding public order and the rule of law for everyone. We are all part of the Bunjaku family, because Afrim Bunjaku belongs to the Republic of Kosovo. I emphasize his double courage: he was the first to confront the Banjskë blockade. He did this as an experienced police officer—22 years of service, 16 as a commander. Now he holds the rank of Hero of Kosovo, which no one can take away. I want to stress the aspect of courage: he did not allow younger officers to face the blockade set up on the road by trucks from the Serbian paramilitary terrorist group led by Radoičić. He sacrificed himself and protected the younger officers from doing so,” Kurti said.
Kurti called on the international community not to consider Serbia a normal state as long as it does not hand over the criminals led by Milan Radoičić.
“We call on international actors not to consider Serbia a normal state as long as it does not surrender the organized Serbian criminals led by Milan Radoičić and financed by President Aleksandar Vučić. The indictment includes 45 people; they must be handed over to the state of Kosovo immediately,” Kurti emphasized.
