Acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Liza Gashi and Kosovo’s Consul General, Ambassador Blerim Reka, held a bilateral meeting with Belizean Prime Minister John Briceno during the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly.
The leaders discussed opportunities for economic cooperation between Kosovo and Belize, identifying potential sectors for foreign investment, including education, tourism, social policy, employment, and culture.
Both Prime Ministers invited each other for official visits to their respective countries and agreed to enhance exchanges in areas of mutual interest.
Belize recognized Kosovo in August 2008, and diplomatic relations were formally established in April 2016. In 2021, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding in New York to promote bilateral consultations between their foreign ministries.
