Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani delivered a speech at the U.S. Army War College, highlighting Kosovo’s journey from survival to freedom, the contribution of American soldiers, and the historic alliance between Kosovo and the United States.
During her speech, Osmani emphasized that it was America and NATO that led Kosovo to freedom and a secure state.
“I was a young girl when Kosovo faced the genocidal war of Milosevic. It was a time when we were forced to flee our homes, when our loved ones were killed before our eyes, and when our childhood was defined by war and conflict,” Osmani recalled.
“In the darkest hours, America stood with us. It was American soldiers, together with NATO allies, who transformed despair in Kosovo into hope, fear into security, and occupation into freedom,” she added.
The President also expressed her gratitude once again to the United States for its unwavering support for Kosovo.
