A tragic incident occurred on Sunday morning at a church in Grand Blanc Township, Michigan, where a 40-year-old gunman opened fire on worshippers and later set the building on fire.

According to BBC reports, the attack took place around 10:25 a.m. local time when the suspect rammed his vehicle into the church entrance and began shooting with an automatic weapon at those inside. At the time, hundreds of people were attending the service.

Police responded quickly, engaging in a gunfight with the suspect. He was neutralized and killed by law enforcement. Authorities confirmed that two other people were killed, while several others were wounded. The condition of some victims remains uncertain.

Officials further stated that the fire inside the church was deliberately started by the attacker, but it was successfully contained by emergency services. The motive behind the violent act is still unknown.
