The symbolic inauguration of KFOR XXX’s shield and flag raising took place at Camp Film City in Prishtina, marking the continuity of the NATO-led mission in Kosovo.
The ceremony was jointly presided over by the outgoing Commander, Major General Enrico Barduani, and the incoming Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, ensuring freedom of movement at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) in their respective security roles,” the announcement states.
