Russian authorities have arrested 40-year-old Boris Volfman, suspected of involvement in human organ trafficking, including a clinic that had operated in Kosovo several years ago.
Volfman had been on INTERPOL’s wanted list by Russia, reports Metro.co.uk.
He faces up to 15 years in prison following deportation from Turkey, according to media reports.
Volfman is accused of running an organ trafficking network spanning the Atlantic, from Costa Rica to Kosovo.
Previously, he was arrested in Turkey on suspicion of attempting to obtain organs from poor Syrian refugees and supplying them to wealthy clients.
He had also been arrested in Tirana, Albania, and Israel in prior years.
