Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has welcomed Hamas’s response to the Donald Trump peace plan, calling it a positive step toward ending the conflict.
He reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and expressed gratitude to the United States, Arab nations, and Islamic countries for their efforts toward achieving peace.
Abbas “confirmed the State of Palestine’s readiness to work constructively with U.S. President Donald Trump from this moment forward, as well as with all relevant partners.”
“What matters to us now,” Abbas emphasized, “is the immediate commitment to a complete ceasefire, the release of all hostages and prisoners, the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid through United Nations organizations, ensuring no displacement or annexation, and the beginning of reconstruction efforts.”
