The Special Prosecution and Kosovo Police have conducted a major operation, seizing €40,000 in counterfeit currency.

TWO ARRESTED, €40,000 IN COUNTERFEIT EUROS SEIZED

Pristina, 07 October 2025 – By order of the Special Prosecution of Kosovo, two individuals were arrested on Tuesday evening on suspicion of the criminal offense of “Counterfeiting Money.”

Police investigators from the Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, following several months of investigation and based on an order issued by the Basic Court in Pristina under the guidance of the Special Prosecution, carried out a police operation in Pristina.

In cooperation with the Kosovo Police Rapid Response Unit, a vehicle carrying the suspects S.T. and A.Th. was stopped.
During the inspection, counterfeit euros totaling €40,000 were discovered and seized. Preliminary testing confirmed that the money was fake.

Investigators also conducted searches at two additional locations, including the homes and related premises of the suspects.

The Special Prosecution of Kosovo, in coordination with the Kosovo Police, is taking all necessary investigative measures in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code.
