Ahead of the local elections this Sunday in Kosovo, the European Union Ambassador, Aivo Orav, has called for broad citizen participation and a free and fair electoral process.
Speaking about the importance of the elections, Ambassador Orav emphasized that “every vote matters” and that voter participation strengthens Kosovo as a democratic, dynamic, and multiethnic country.
“With the local elections taking place this Sunday, I call on all eligible voters, regardless of ethnicity or political preference, to go out and vote for their representatives. It is essential that the voting process be free, fair, and inclusive, that the will of the voters be respected, and that the results be implemented,” Orav stated.
He added that these elections represent a key moment for Kosovo’s democracy, serving as an important step toward progress and European integration.
“These local elections are a test for Kosovo’s democracy. Successfully passing this test opens new opportunities for the country,” the EU ambassador concluded.
The local elections are expected to take place this Sunday in several municipalities across Kosovo, under close international monitoring and heightened attention to ensure the process runs smoothly.
