FIFA President Gianni Infantino has been awarded the Medal of Honor of the Republic of Kosovo by President Vjosa Osmani.

The ceremony took place today in Prishtina, where President Osmani praised Infantino’s continuous support for Kosovo not only during moments of celebration but also through the most challenging times.

Osmani emphasized that football has kept the spirit of many children alive since the time of the Kosovo war in 1999.

“Under your leadership, FIFA has become a family of many nations. For Kosovo, this has had vital importance. You have helped our players carry our flag and compete with pride on international stages,” President Osmani stated.

The Presidency described Infantino as a “true friend of football” and a “true friend of Kosovo.”

During the ceremony, both Osmani and Infantino mentioned the legacy of the late football legend Fadil Vokrri, former head of the Football Federation of Kosovo, who played a key role in advancing Kosovo’s football to the global stage.

Infantino expressed his gratitude, saying he was honored and delighted to receive the decoration.
