Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that containers carrying thousands of SkyDagger kamikaze combat drones have arrived at Prishtina “Adem Jashari” International Airport.
In a post on Facebook, Kurti confirmed that dozens of Kosovo Security Force (FSK) personnel have already been trained to operate the drones.
“The contract was signed in December of last year with the renowned Turkish company Baykar, the parent company of the SkyDagger manufacturer. The drones were scheduled to arrive in January 2026, but we received them three months earlier,” Kurti stated.
He explained that these FPV RTF (Ready to Fly) SkyDagger kamikaze drones are equipped with explosive payloads designed to strike both moving and static enemy targets.
Kurti emphasized that this acquisition, along with TB2 Bayraktar and Puma aircraft, significantly enhances Kosovo’s defense capabilities.
“With the purchase of this contingent of unmanned aerial vehicles, we continue to strengthen the strike power of our army and build a force aligned with modern technology and contemporary warfare tactics. The drones were loaded onto Rheinmetall 8×8 multifunctional trucks, 15 in total — 10 purchased and 5 received as donations,” Kurti added.
