Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has publicly voiced her support for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan following criticism of Turkey by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, coinciding with U.S. President Donald Trump praising Erdogan’s leadership in promoting global peace and security.

In a post on X, Osmani stated that Vučić is shamelessly attacking Turkey, a NATO member that contributes to regional peace.

“I am proud to have worked closely with President Erdogan, a man of his word, who has consistently demonstrated deep and sincere care for all people in our region and has contributed exceptionally to stability, security, and protection. Meanwhile, Vučić seems to believe he can threaten a major NATO country like Turkey just as he threatens neighboring nations. Rather than cooperating closely with NATO members, he fosters defensive partnerships with Russia, China, and Iran,” Osmani wrote.

She emphasized that Kosovo will continue to strengthen ties with NATO allies, modernize defense capabilities according to Alliance standards, and actively contribute to collective security to ensure peace and stability.

Osmani added that Vučić should focus on constructive cooperation rather than attacking neighbors, but she expressed doubt that such maturity is achievable given his hegemonic mindset. She also thanked Erdogan and the Turkish people for supporting Kosovo’s security.

“May the strong Kosovo-Turkey bond endure forever,” concluded Osmani.
