President Donald Trump spoke briefly at the White House about Gaza, saying he does not see the need for direct U.S. military involvement.

Asked about an earlier statement from a senior U.S. military official who urged Hamas to disarm — and whether that signaled possible U.S. military involvement if Hamas failed to disarm — Trump replied:
“We will not need the American military,” according to BBC News.

When asked if he sees any reason to involve U.S. forces in Gaza, Trump answered: “No, I do not see that.”

“We will help Israel, but there are other countries… many countries have signed on,” Trump said, referring to the ceasefire agreement. “Many of those countries are relatively strong military powers and Hamas has no support,” he added.

Trump also said graves and tunnels are being opened in Gaza to help locate the bodies of Israeli hostages that have not yet been returned.

He stated last night that if Hamas does not disarm, “we will disarm them.”
