Albanian media report that Liburn Aliu, former Minister of Infrastructure in Kosovo’s Kurti II government, has been appointed as the new Director of the Port of Durrës, one of Albania’s most strategic maritime facilities.
According to VNA.al, which cites reliable sources, the appointment was made by Albania’s Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku.
Aliu’s appointment comes two months after his resignation from his ministerial post in Pristina. He has now officially joined Albania’s institutional framework, marking a significant career shift from Kosovo’s government to a leading role in Albania’s infrastructure sector.
The Port of Durrës, the largest in the country, is currently undergoing major modernization and expansion projects, making the directorship a position of high strategic importance.
