The Department for Serious Crimes of the Prosecution in Gjilan has arrested D.K., a school director in Klokot, and has requested his pre-trial detention, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Violation of the free determination of voters.”
According to the prosecution, there is well-founded suspicion that D.K., abusing his official position, intimidated and pressured a teacher at his school during September and October, demanding that she vote for the “Serbian List” in the upcoming local elections.
The director allegedly threatened her with disciplinary action, job termination, and other social and economic consequences if she refused to follow his political instructions.
Such acts represent a serious attack on democratic values, free elections, and the independence of public institutions, highlighting the systematic pressure that the Serbian List continues to exert on Serb citizens in Kosovo-controlled municipalities.
By order of the prosecutor, D.K. has been detained for 48 hours, pending a decision on the request for pre-trial detention.
