An informal group of students from Niš publicly rejected an apology from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, emphasizing that their demands for justice have not been addressed.

Earlier on Wednesday, Vučić called for tomorrow’s commemorative meeting in Novi Sad to be conducted peacefully, expressing regret over mistakes made in the past year, including his own.

“I apologize for that. I am my own biggest critic. I want each of us to look back on the things we said or did tomorrow. I know I will,” Vučić stated.

In response, the Niš students posted on Instagram:

“We do not accept the apology, the demands have not been met. Your hands are bloody.”

The students’ reaction reflects ongoing public frustration with the Serbian government, highlighting concerns over accountability, corruption, and the lack of tangible responses to citizens’ demands. By rejecting the apology, they assert that words alone are insufficient without concrete action.

Their stance demonstrates the continuing role of youth activism in advocating for justice and transparency, signaling that demands for accountability remain central to public discourse in Serbia.
