The Workers’ Union of Radio Television of Kosovo (SPERTK) has announced a protest scheduled for Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM, to be held in front of RTK’s First Channel entrance, due to the ongoing issue of unpaid salaries.

This marks the second time in three months that employees of the public broadcaster have gone without pay, facing economic insecurity and jeopardizing the normal functioning of the institution.

RTK is currently engaged in several high-priority projects directly linked to its public mission and the broader interests of Kosovo. The financial crisis threatens the completion of these projects and undermines RTK’s role as an independent and inclusive public media outlet.

SPERTK is calling on all colleagues, without exception, to join the protest to defend their dignity and fundamental right to fair pay.

The union emphasized that the protest is not political, but a matter of rights and dignity for work performed daily in service of the public.

SPERTK warned that if the situation does not improve following the protest, they may boycott all major public events as a form of pressure to urgently resolve the wage crisis and ensure the sustainable functioning of RTK.

All media in Kosovo are urged to cover and report on the protest in a show of solidarity and support for public broadcaster employees and their right to regular salaries.
