The Office of the Chief State Prosecutor of Kosovo has announced that all preparations have been completed to ensure the protection of free voting and the integrity of the electoral process during the second round of local elections scheduled for Sunday, November 9, 2025.

According to the official statement, around 80 prosecutors and officials from the prosecutorial system will be deployed across Kosovo, maintaining continuous duty shifts until the completion of voting and ballot counting.

“The State Prosecutor calls on all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, political entities, institutions, and organizations to report any suspected case of vote misuse or manipulation to the competent prosecution offices, regardless of who is involved,” the statement reads.

The Chief Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that its primary mission is to uphold the integrity of the democratic process, ensuring that every citizen can cast their vote freely, safely, and without intimidation.

The coordinated deployment of prosecutors across all municipalities is part of a broader institutional effort to prevent electoral crimes and maintain public trust in the voting process.

Kosovo’s judicial and law enforcement institutions have repeatedly underlined their zero-tolerance policy toward electoral violations, warning that any confirmed cases of vote-buying, coercion, or manipulation will be swiftly prosecuted.

This initiative aligns with similar security and monitoring plans announced by the Kosovo Police and the Central Election Commission (CEC) ahead of Sunday’s run-off elections.
